The “Grand Paris”: 57 sites to build around train stations

The "Grand Paris Express" plans the construction of four new automatic subway lines (L15, L16, L17 and L18) around Paris and the extension of two existing lines (L14 and L11). All the subway lines should be under construction by 2020.

In addition to setting up the Grand Paris Express network, the “Société du Grand Paris” plans to build new districts around train stations.

The contest "Inventons la métropole" aims to create 57 new sites. Half of these should be next to the future stations. Therefore, activity in the building industry is increasingly dynamic: Forecasts for year 2017 have been upgraded from + 3,4 to + 4%. As a consequence, the French construction equipment market is still growing up. For instance, the French tower cranes market is up 39% compared with 2016.

Another contest about new mobilities closed on 21st June. The purpose is to develop new means of transport near the stations. For example, a short-distance car-pooling application in “Anthonypôle”, a sports program at the “Courneuve”, or a rental service for electric bikes (the "Bondycycle") in “Bondy”, will be created…
